The term "Shellback" derives from the ceremonial tradition held for sailors crossing the equator, one which grants them a right of passage as a seasoned sailor. I spent several years as a Merchant Sailor in engineering and metal fabrication, traveling the world and the oceans taking in cultures, art, architecture and style, and these experiences paired with the rugged wood and iron aesthetics of ships and boats have heavily influenced the styles and designs of our pieces.
